We had so much fun watching the finale last week at MuchMusic! Our favourite part, by far, was getting to see everyone’s reactions.
Check out the final scene excitement!
Munro and Annie’s cuteness made this a necessary reblog.
It has to do with Maya’s plot.
Since when is it the job of the fucking student to challenge themselves?
That is literally stupid as fuck. When you are an exceptional student being unchallenged at a regular school, your teachers and the school puts you in higher learning classes. In the same way that I was put into AP Bio because I understood Honors Bio.
If they are not able to do this, your parents are supposed to do something about it.When I was unchallenged in my music classes, you know what my parents did? They enrolled me in a separate after school music school. Don’t tell me those don’t exist in Canada because I just looked it up and they do.
So, expecting Maya to challenge herself pisses me off. As a viewer, from the family perspective, it makes it appear as if Katie’s interests are the only ones that matter to the Matlin’s. And from a schooling perspective, it appears that they don’t look at the students as individuals, which is important in making a school a productive learning environment, all the best high schools in America are known for this.
And, yes, I am a nerd and I like to learn.
But, honestly, if that’s really how schools in Canada operate, there’s something wrong.
